In addition, 30 senior member officers and cadets of the Civil Air Patrol received the Life Saving Award for using their knowledge and skills which resulted in the saving of a life.
Members of the Nevada Wing of the Civil Air Patrol flew and supported 152 sorties to support the training of armed forces personnel being deployed to the Middle East in 2011. Further, members of the Nevada Wing volunteered thousands of hours in support of "Operation Javelin Thrust," providing refreshment and relaxation for over 5,000 U.S. Marines as they traveled to training exercises.
Members of the Nevada Wing also secured donations for Wreaths Across America and placed over 3,100 wreaths on veteran grave sites throughout Nevada. Senior member officers also conducted aerospace education activities and workshops for hundreds of Nevada, California, Arizona and Idaho CAP Cadets and junior high school students.
