Editor's note: Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval sent the following letter to Lowry High School boys basketball coach Chad Peters after the Buckaroos won the 3A boys state title.
Dear Coach Peters:
I want to extend my congratulations to you and your team for winning the 3A boys basketball championships. You have put so much hard work and dedication into your athletic program this past year, and it has definitely paid off. As a coach, you have set powerful examples for your athletes, and I am very impressed.
I commend your team's season record and wanted to personally send my compliments to your students. Your athletes have shown prowess in the game they clearly know and play so well and their skills on the court were unmatched by their opponents.
Lowry definitely deserves the title you won in boys basketball. I am very proud of the way you have all conducted yourselves both athletically and as student leaders. Please extend my congratulations to your athletes.
