Girl Scouts cookies on sale

RENO - The 2014 Girl Scout Cookie Program will run through March 23 with door-to-door sales in January and deliveries in February. Troops will host their Cookie Booths in front of retail shops and grocery stores in March.

What began as a fundraising effort in year 1917, the Cookie Program now yields $790 million in annual sales. The Cookie Program provides girls with training in five essential business skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics, and people skills.

The cost of Girl Scout Cookies remains at $4 per box, and all proceeds from the Cookie Program stay local.

New this year to the Girl Scout cookie line-up are the Cranberry Citrus Crisps, a whole-grain crispy cookie. Other flavors include: Thanks-A-Lots, Lemonades, Shortbreads, Peanut Butter Patties, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Sandwiches and Thin Mints.[[In-content Ad]]
