I recently spoke with men from Mexico, Jamaica and mother Russia.
I must tell you being around those men and hearing the excitement in their voices when speaking about our country, seeing how happy they were to be in the country that we call ours, I must admit it was infectious and a bit inspiring.
Then I think about myself and some of my fellow countrymen; the way that we complain or go on about this or that.
Now, I know our justice and political systems aren't perfect but these men are absolutely right. We live in a great place. All we need to do is stop, smell the roses and get over it.
Don't get me wrong: I know life is not all peaches and cream but a lot of Americans take it for granted. With that being said, we, as Americans, need to get our fire, passion and spirit back.
As always, it's a great day to be an American.
