BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Lander County Hospice would like to thank Barrick for its generous donation. Lander County Hospice will be using the funds to help with the improvements that are needed on the building hospice is purchasing. The building is located on 326 W. Front St. and hospice officials would like to have this store as a gift and community store. The store will be home to the hospice office and also a high-end thrift store, along with a fantastic place for the talented people of the community to show and donate or consign crafts they have created.
Lander County Hospice will also be using some of the funds donated by Barrick to help the patients and their families through difficult times. Lander County Hospice is located in Battle Mountain to honor and support individuals in our community who are suffering from a chronic, debilitating or terminal illness. We will be there for the families in the comfort of their own home, to make their journey through this difficult time with the most possible ease.
Lander County Hospice and the Gift and Community store will be run with the help of volunteers only. If you would like to volunteer for the hospice patient care or the Gift and Community store please contact:
Crystal Bard (hospice director) at (775) 304-6311 or Trish Hanson (store manager) at (775) 229-1581.
"In a patient's darkest hours, you shine a beam of light. When a family in the greatest need, you are there help. A smile, a hand, a few hours of your time-such a precious gift given, by your hospice volunteers." - Beth Cantrell
