BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Students at Great Basin College are well into the fall semester, and may now be anticipating mid-term exams. That anticipation can sometimes turn to anxiety. In response, GBC Student Services Retention Office and the Academic Success Center are sponsoring a series Student Success Workshops.
The next session is Wednesday, October 24 at 1:00 P.M. Study Skills II will provide students with techniques for improving memory and critical thinking. In addition, students will learn test taking strategies, and how to deal with test anxiety.
The sessions are being held at sites throughout the college service area. In Battle Mountain, room 3; Elko, EIT room 203; Ely, room 112; Pahrump, room 124; and Winnemucca, room 115.
On November 28, a Finals Week Survival Guide will help students prepare for the rigors of the end of the semester. The workshops are free, and are available to all GBC students. Students are urged to attend to learn new skills, gain new insights and become a more successful student. Refreshments will be provided.
