The Great Basin College (GBC) 2014 Commencement will take place Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. in the Elko Convention Center. President Mark Curtis will preside over the proceedings. Four hundred and fifteen students will have earned: 58 Bachelor degrees plus one post-baccalaureate certification, 273 associate's degrees, and/or 188 certificates. Of the degrees to be awarded, 27 are from Battle Mountain, 17 from Ely, 34 from Pahrump, 39 from Winnemucca, and 298 from Elko and surrounding areas, including a number from out of state.
It is anticipated that 250 students will walk in the ceremony on Saturday. Nevada System of Higher Education Regent Kevin Melcher will attend, along with members of the Great Basin College Advisory Board.
