Gary A. Cowger, owner of Lovelock Funeral Home, passed away Sunday March 3, 2013 in Lovelock. Born In Los Angeles, CA on April 14,1942, he was 70 years old. In 1991, he came to Lovelock to help operate the Lovelock Funeral Home , with lifelong friend, Ray Heikkila. Ray passed away in 2004, Gary continued to run the funeral home up until his death. He also was the owner/operator of Albertson's (formerly Eddy's) Funeral Home in Winnemucca.
Gary is survived by his longtime friend, John Snyder, daughter, Jaime Greenfield (Charles Smith), 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grand children, and a great great grandchild, due in Sept., his step-mother, Virginia Cowger, step- brother Smokey Beaman, nephew, Allen Haumann, and countless friends, who will miss him immensely. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Middleton, father Alfred Cowger, and his sister Nancy Haumann.
Services will be held on sat. March 9, 2013 at 11:00 am the Lovelock Community Center, with burial to follow at Lone Mtn. Cemetery in Lovelock, NV.
Arrangements were made by Smith family Funeral Home in Fallon, NV.
