Long time resident Garry Grey Foster passed away March 27, 2012. Born 6/28/1925, he was 86 years old.

Garry was a decorated World War II Veteran, serving the war years island hopping in the South Pacific, including New Guinea and the Philippines. After the war, he returned to Winnemucca, where, with the exception of a stay in Elko, he remained for the rest of his life. Garry worked for Bell Telephone in the early 1950s, then went to work for the Humboldt County School District, until he retired after many years.

He and his wife, Nell, enjoyed traveling in their R.V. and visiting family and friends in their retirement years. Garry was a much loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend.

He was preceded in death by his sister Jeanne, and his wife Nell. He is survived by sons Greg (Mary Ann), and Grant, and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.

Internment in the Winnemucca cemetery next to his wife Nell, and father Fred, will be Saturday, April 7, at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow at 5035 Schreiner Drive, Winnemucca. In lieu of flowers, Garry requested donations to the Humboldt Hospice, the N.R.A., or the Republican Party.
