There's some good news for shoppers coming from the Frugal Flamingo.
The thrift shop, which is owned and operated by the Humboldt Volunteer Hospice, has begun accepting debit and credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
There is a $10 purchase minimum, and the cash back option will not be available.
"We really wanted to spread the word about this," said HVH Executive Director Sherry Smith. "We know our customers will be thrilled at how easy this will make their shopping experience."
Smith said in combination with the store's customer loyalty program, which kicked off last March, the Frugal is putting together an unbeatable shopping experience for patrons.
As part of that program, customers who spend $10 at the store will receive one pink flamingo punch on their "loyalty card."
Five pink flamingo punches will qualify the customer for a $5 discount on their next visit.
"This is our way of thanking the community for their continued commitment to the Frugal Flamingo," said HVH Executive Director Sherry Smith.
"This store and its loyal customers have financially supported many individuals in our community who are suffering from a chronic, debilitating or terminal illness," continued Smith, "so this is our way of giving back to our most generous donors."
All hospice care is provided at no cost to patients. Families do not need a doctor's referral in order to access hospice services. The Frugal Flamingo Thrift Store is located at 720 E. Fourth Street. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Donations to the Frugal Flamingo are gladly accepted during the store's hours of operation.[[In-content Ad]]
