The "Frugal Flamingo" will be closed for the Memorial Day weekend.
The thrift shop, located at 720 E. Fourth Street, will be closed from Saturday, May 24, through Monday, May 26, so that volunteers can spend the weekend with their families.
The store will reopen for business at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27.
The Frugal Flamingo's normal hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Donations are gladly accepted during the store's regular hours of operation.
Humboldt Volunteer Hospice Executive Director Sherry Smith thanked the community for their continuing support of both the Frugal Flamingo and Hospice.
"We couldn't do it without our generous and caring community," she said.
All proceeds from the Frugal Flamingo Thrift Shop help support individuals in the Humboldt County community who are suffering from a chronic, debilitating or terminal illness. All hospice care is provided at no cost to patients. Families do not need a doctor's referral in order to access hospice services.
