WINNEMUCCA - Dominique Frearson shot a 36-hole score of 176 to win the Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club Championship, played at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course over two days on Aug. 21, and Aug. 28.
Laurie Pluemer was second with a 186 in the first flight and Gail Piquet and Terri Kracaw tied for third at 199.
Candace Puls was first in the second flight with a 233, while Rene Vesco was second at 238. Karen Aldrich was third at 239.
Jean Mentaberry placed first in the third flight at 224, followed by Betty Cannon at 237. Kay Billingsley finished third at 249.
Puls, Frearson and Puls had the fewest putts with 30 on Aug. 21, and Pluemer had the fewest putts on Aug. 28, with 26. Pluemer had chip-ins on both days of the tournament and Puls, Frearson, Billingsley and Lori Warnert also had chip-ins.
Kracaw was closest to the hole on No. 2 on Aug. 21, at 15 feet, 5 inches, and Pluemer was closest to the hole on No. 2 on Aug. 28, at 4-2. Mentaberry was closest to the hole on No. 5 on Aug. 21, at 11-10, as well as on Aug. 28, at 3-8.5.
