Frank Iturriaga

Our beloved Frank Iturriaga of Battle Mountain, Nev., passed away in the evening of Dec. 15, 2013, in Reno, Nev.

One month shy of being born in Spain, Frank was delivered to Cecilio and Jesusa Iturriaga in Battle Mountain on May 29, 1974. Frank quickly became a pillar of his community. His work ethic, honesty and family values were the foundation of his character and his many interactions.

Frank had a knack for befriending strangers quickly wherever he traveled. His friends became family and his family was at the heart of all he did.

As a volunteer fireman for the Lander County Volunteer Fire Department, owner of Iturriaga's Napa Auto Supply and most important to him, a father, a husband, brother and son, Frank was consistently the first to lend his generosity in the ways he knew best.

Frank had a love for the northern Nevada outdoors, especially when it involved hunting and fishing.

In Battle Mountain Frank built his home, his business and his family with his beautiful wife, Jennifer. "Pokko," as he was called by his five children, will be forever remembered by his booming laugh and contagious smile.

Frank Iturriaga is survived by his wife, Jennifer Ramos Iturriaga, his children Alexis, Blake, Darion, Asier and Patxi, his parents Cecilio and Jesusa Iturriaga and brother David Iturriaga, all of Battle Mountain, Nev. He is also loved dearly by many living cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Catholic Rosary Service will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church on Friday evening, Dec. 20, 2013, at 7 p.m. Services to honor Frank's life will be held at the Battle Mountain High School Gym at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request contributions payable to "Frank Iturriaga Scholarship Fund" be mailed to P.O. Box 576 Battle Mountain, NV 89820.[[In-content Ad]]
