Frances Mae (Muzingo) Goddard, 87, was lovingly cared for by her eldest daughter Vikki, son-in-law Andy and wonderful family friend Kristin Almaraz at home prior to her passing at Humboldt General Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at 9:20 p.m.
Frances was chief telephone operator of the city of Los Angeles for many years.
Frances and Ed (a retired LAPD officer) then moved to Reno where they lived over 40 years in Sun Valley. After Ed's passing in 2009 she moved to Unionville where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Edward E. Goddard (passed Aug. 16, 2009) her daughter Norma Waynette Trovato (passed Dec. 31, 2012) and siblings Dorothy Donath, Peggy Peterson, Patsy Stephenson, Robert (Bobby) Muzingo and Austin (Sonny) Muzingo who passed the week before her, Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.
She is survived by her children, Vikki (Andy) Marinich, Unionville, Linda (Jerry) Sepanero, Beaumont, Calif., her son-in-law Louis Trovato, Nevada City, Calif., her step-children John (Gaye) Goddard, Barmera, South Australia & Terry (Emmett) Lemons, Trevor, Wis. She is also survived by her loving sister Shirley Hatfield, of Lyons, Ore. She will be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances was a loving wife, mother and friend; she will be missed by many. She will be remembered for her hidden sense of humor, like her sayings "you do good work; for a girl," or "I'm in good shape, for the shape I'm in," and her generosity to many charities and animal organizations in the Reno area.
The family would personally like to thank Kristin Almaraz, Dr. Mahadava, Dr. Perkinson and staff, Dr. Kracaw, nurses (Kayla, Daniel and others), EMTs, (Jerry, Monique and Annie) and HGH EMS Rescue (Charles, Andrew and Griselda) and anyone else I missed who lovingly cared for Mom with compassion, respect, dignity and love in her final days.
At her request there will be no services. She was buried at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley with her husband Ed (Papa) Goddard on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013.
In lieu of flowers a donation to any SPCA or your local animal organization would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements provided by La PALOMA, Reno. Thank you, Dustin.
