Frances Killfoil passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011. She was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Alamosa, Colo., to Frank and Ruth G. Strickler. Frances married Marvin Killfoil between baseball games on Aug. 25, 1939, in Lindsborg, Kan., and graduated from Bethany College as a Violin Major. After several years, they moved to Willow Ranch, Calif., and, while raising six children, Frances attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland to obtain a teaching degree. She taught in New Pine Creek, Ore., for three years in a two room school house.
After moving to Lovelock in 1957, Frances taught first grade for more than 20 years. Her life revolved around the things she loved most - children, flowers, family and her dog, Pepper. In later years, she was a fixture at the Marzen House Museum. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
Frances is survived by her six children: Kay and John Prida of Yerington, Mike and Chinchie Killfoil of Beijing, China, Jim and Vicki Killfoil of Jamestown, Calif., Bob and Nikki Killfoil of Fallon, LuRuth Walls of Lovelock, Lynda and Brad Quilici of Rye Patch, 15 grandchildren: Letticia, Jonas, Mikin, Michael, Kenny, Kelly, Jimmy, Katie, Jessie, Claudeane, Michon, Michel, Sara, Brooke and Dario and eight great-grandchildren: Brooke, Sydney, Samantha, Sarah, Jaxson, Zoe, Kai and Zayinn.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Grace Methodist Church in Lovelock.
