Four Lady Bucks earn first-team, all-state softball honors Six players in all selected

WINNEMUCCA - Half of the Lowry High School softball team infield was included in the 3A all-state, first team, as chosen by the league's respective coaches.

The left side of the infield, including shortstop Madi Gonzalez and Hana Etcheverry, was named to the first team, as was pitcher Jordan Mecham and right fielder Heather McElvain.

Lowry reached the 3A state championship game for the first time since 2007 but was defeated by Churchill County 10-1 at Hixson Field on the campus of the University of Nevada.

First baseman Taylor Johnson was named to the second team, along with Ere Higbee, who was named as a DH.
