The Nevada State Health Division, Public Health and Clinical Service staff would like to remind you that it is time to think about the approaching flu season and flu vaccines. A community preparedness drill (POD) exercise will be conducted in conjunction with the Battle Mountain General Hospital Health Fair. Free flu vaccines will be available until they run out on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 to 12 p.m. This event will be conducted in the same manner as last year. There will be an area behind the Civic Center to drive your vehicle through to receive your vaccine. The vaccination will take place while you are in your vehicle. You can pick up a consent form for the vaccine at the American Red Cross table located in the Civic Center at the Health Fair. If you and your family are on foot, there will be shuttles available in the Civic Center parking lot, which will transport you through the POD and drop you back off at the Civic Center. The entrance to the drive-through is on Humboldt Street. Please look for the signs for further route instructions. Volunteers are needed. Call Reita at 635-2386 to sign up or obtain further information.[[In-content Ad]]
