Floyd passed peacefully from this life the afternoon of March 23, after a fight with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life. Floyd was born in Colburn, Colo., but has been in Winnemucca since 1980. After working for the Operating Engineers Local 3 and raising three daughters with his wife Lougene, he retired early and enjoyed the majority of his time in Winnemucca, where he tolerated hunting but loved to fish and work in his garden and yard.
Floyd is survived by three children (and spouses); Pat Ceccarelli (Mike), Dena Johnson (Bernard), and Sue Choate (Richard), and was a foster parent to Kathie Johnson and many others. Also, eight grandchildren; Jeremiah, Jeanna, Trista, Shawna, K.C, Jacob, Katie and Kelly and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, sisters and great grandson Kolby.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 31, at 2 p.m. at 5875 Pelican Way, Winnemucca, NV 89445, internment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
