The pre-K and 3- to 4-year old classes were visited by Battle Mountain Volunteer Firemen Donnie Negro and Jimmy Drown on Oct. 23 and 24. The children learned to always give matches and lighters to an adult, how to extinguish fire on clothing by the "Stop, Cover Face, Drop, and Roll" technique, and to call 911 to report a fire or any other emergency. They were also taught to have their parents check the smoke detectors at home. The children were thrilled to ride in the fire engine after the presentation by the firemen. The firemen presented an excellent and fun introduction to fire prevention for Christ Lutheran Preschool students.
