Field widens for local offices

Bullock, Mason facing challengers to retain seats

Monday afternoon, several competitors had signed up to face incumbents for local offices.

Lander County Commission Vice Chair Dean Bullock will face Nicolas Love and Art Clark III in the District Two race.

Commissioner Dave Mason also will face two challengers for his District Five seat - Sean Bakker and Nathan Lauritzen.

Incumbent Idonna Trevino and challenger Lesley Bunch will be vying for the recorder's seat while incumbent Grace Powrie and Liz Dias will be competing for treasurer.

Sadie Sullivan is the lone candidate for county clerk and Lura Duvall is the only candidate for assessor. Public defender Ted Herrera is the only candidate district attorney.

Ron Unger is running to retain his seat as sheriff. School board members Susan Davis and Mark Lake are running for Area One of the Lander County School Board. There are four seats open for that area. Anna Penola is running to retain her seat on the school board for Area Three. She is currently the chair of the school board.

Incumbent Pat Brickley is the sole contender for the Lander County Hospital District Board of Trustees Seat D; Linda Lauritzen is running for Seat E. Nancy Lockridge is running to retain her office of Seat F on the hospital board.

Also alone are Cynthia Garcia for Lander County Sewer and Water No. 2 Seat B, Rosalie Zamora for Kingston Town Board Seat B and June Manhire for Kingston Town Board Seat D.[[In-content Ad]]
