While Cameron Carrica recovers from injuries obtained in a fight that took place last weekend, family friend Nick Lujan is organizing a run/ride/walk to raise money for Carrica's medical expenses.

The run will take place Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. and costs $25 per participant. All of the funds will go toward Carrica and his family, Lujan said.

Lujan said he grew up with Carrica and his family and organized the run as a way to help out.

"It'll be fun and it all goes to a good cause," he said.

In an online post about the event, Lujan said the run is a way to "take out all of your pain and anger... so there is no retaliation," and asked for prayers for the Carrica family.

"Where you believe it works or not," he said, "it can't hurt."

The run will take place in the desert. There is no exact address for the starting point but Lujan said to follow Placer Way all the way to the end and the run will begin on the left. Participants are asked to bring their fee/donation in cash.[[In-content Ad]]
