Fall bowling season for Winnemucca Buckaroos Chapter of Special Olympics now underway

Season culminates with championshisps in Reno

WINNEMUCCA - The Fall bowling session for the Winnemucca Buckaroos Chapter of Special Olympics began on Thursday.

In the fall, the group practices bowling, weekly from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Spare Time Bowling Alley. If you have an athlete who is eight years old or older and has an intellectual disability, physical disability, or autism, the group would love for them to join.

From Nov. 8 - 10, the group of bowlers will attend the Reno State Bowling championship and show all of their bowling techniques.

The group is led by coach Leslie Molina, a special education teacher in the Humboldt County School District. All of the Special Olympic volunteers are finger printed and screened by the state police.

Parents are welcome, but this is a chance to sit back and let others enjoy the company of your child.

The group takes a break through the holidays, but gathers again in the spring for track and field.

For more information contact Molina at lmolina@humboldt.k12.nv.us or 775-623-8128 if you are interested in joining.
