FERNLEY - More than 15 professional Northern Nevada artists from Fallon, Fernley, Wadsworth, Winnemucca and Reno will show their latest projects developed for the theme of "Food for the Sole." The art exhibit and artists reception will take place in the gallery of Grate Thyme Kitchen, 150 E. Main Street, suite 470 (in the Sky Ridge Plaza), Fernley. Pieces including pottery, photography, mixed media, paintings, collage, and glass mosaic created by the local artists. Two and three dimensional art will be viewable. "The finished art is the result of the individual artist's interpretation of the name of the show," Retterer said. "The outcome depends on whether they consider 'Sole' as a food item or the sole of a shoe or something else. It is entirely up to them." The exhibit will be open from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28. A reception for the artists is scheduled for Friday evening, Feb. 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The art work will be on display Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon. Live music performances will be in session Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Participating artists include Lynne Bunt, Carol Baker, Cynthia Ceresola, Sharri Lou Casey, Judi Crawford, Alice Drendel, Paula Kerr, Dorothy Kusler, Vivian Olds, Theodocia Swecker, Patricia Sammons, Diane Sewell, Brenda Anne Retterer, Jack Taylor, Jeri Taylor, Bonnie Wright, Jerome (Jerry) Mansker and Jeannette Hale. "Food for the 'Sole" is the third showing to be held at Grate Thyme Kitchen's gallery. Schoofs plans to present one show per month with an ongoing display of local artists' work.
