Eva Mae Briggs

Eva Mae "Red Rusty Brick" Briggs (formerly Hoskins) passed on Dec. 8, 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Marge Walker and Carolyn Lynch, her 95-year-old sister, Marge Turner, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eva Briggs was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was known in her younger years for her vibrant red hair (hence the "red rusty brick" descriptor by her classmates) which first attracted the attention of a young sailor, John Briggs. After a brief courtship, the two were married, proceeded to have two daughters, and were the "loves of each other's lives."

Eva Briggs will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She treasured her family above all else and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eva placed great importance on her faith, her church, her friends, and the knowledge that she would join her husband John, who passed some 18 years ago, in Heaven. Knowing that Eva and John are together with God in Heaven gives her family great comfort during this time of sorrow.

Eva was 93 at the time of her passing and by her own admission she lived a long and wonderful life. Her family would like to extend this remembrance and wish the same for all who read this. May God Bless you and yours.

Rest in peace, Eva, Mother, Grandma, GG. We love you so much and while we miss you terribly. We are happy you are in comfort and with the Lord and your love.

A memorial service for Eva will be held at the Grass Valley Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. Her family invites all who wish to attend to celebrate her life with us.[[In-content Ad]]
