Erwin Carl Breithaupt Jr.'s life will be celebrated at 7 p.m., on July 13, 2012, at the Truckee River Whitewater Park at Wingfield in Reno. In lieu of funeral services, this memorial will be a testament to a man that touched the lives of all who knew him, especially his family.
"Erv" as his friends called him, was born to the late Pearl Kathyrn (Hoag) Breithaupt and Erwin Carl Breithaupt Sr. on Feb. 2, 1923, in Athens, Pa. He served honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a graduate of Drexel University School of Commerce and Engineering. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Broomall, Pa. - a church that his parents helped to found - and had a strong relationship with God, sharing his faith as a Sunday School teacher, church elder and choir member.
Erwin Carl Breithaupt Jr. created a legacy in his family. He is survived by his wife, "Terry" (Esther Marie Agnes Findlay) who currently resides in Devon Sr. Living Center in Devon, Pa. He is also survived by his son, Carl Breithaupt, wife, Julie and granddaughter Katrina of Rose Valley, Pa., and daughter, Marietta "Sunny" Johnson, husband Rob of Winnemucca, and granddaughter JoAnn Casalez, husband Jeff, great grandsons, Michael, Jayce, Marcus and Matthew Casalez of Winnemucca, granddaughter, Louri Lesbo, husband Michale, great grandsons, Kason and Kade Lesbo of Elko, grandson Robert Johnson, wife Stephanie, great grandsons Gavin, Seth, Tanner and Donovan Johnson of Winnemucca, grandson R. Jonathan Gervais, partner Tela, great granddaughter Anastasia Gervais of Winnemucca and granddaughter Amanda Johnson of Winnemucca.
Mr. Breithaupt is also survived by brothers Richard Breithaupt and wife, Elizabeth of Sepulveda, Calif., and William Breithaupt and his wife, Joyce of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Though our friend, brother, uncle, father, DeeDad left us to live his faith on June 28, he will always remain at the heart of our lives. The family will be releasing balloons into the air as a gesture of gratitude, love and appreciation for the gift of his life with us.
