Engelbert Wolfgang Schroeder

Engelbert Wolfgang Schroeder "Bert" age 80 was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Rockford, Idaho. He passed away Oct. 2, 2014, at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev.

He was raised and graduated high school in Blackfoot, Idaho. He was a long time farmer who began farming in Taber, Idaho, and eventually moved his family to Winnemucca, Nev., in 1977 to farm. He later was a heavy equipment operator for Hunewill Construction.

In 1958 he married Janet Bergeman from Pingree, Idaho, and they celebrated their 56th anniversary this year.

Bert is survived by his wife Janet of Winnemucca, daughters Teresa Schroeder of Winnemucca and Michelle Rowan of Baton Rouge, La., sons Michael Schroeder of Reno, Patrick Schroeder of Reno and Jamie Schroeder of Kirkland, Wash. Sisters Rosie Jones of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Molly Domeier of Placerville, Calif., and 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Agnes Schroeder, brothers Bernard and Joseph Schroeder, grandchildren Zachary Schroeder and Shane Schroeder.

Bert played sports in high school and college and was a huge fan of basketball, football and baseball. Bert requested no services and it was his wish to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Winnemucca Century Club,  PO Box 3656,  Winnemucca, Nev.,  89446.
