WINNEMUCCA - Humboldt General Hospital Emergency Medical Services Rescue will host a 12-week nationally registered "EMT Basic" training course for men and women who would like to become entry-level emergency medical technicians.
The course will run from Oct. 11 through Dec. 17. Instruction will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays at the ambulance station located adjacent to Humboldt General Hospital.
Students will receive instruction and hands-on training for bleeding, fractures, airway obstruction, cardiac arrest and more.
Cost for the course is $600 and includes all books and materials. There is also a $70 fee for the National Registry exam.
