Emma Beatty passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 in Carson City after a long life of 93 years.

She was born in Winnemucca to Carl and Jane Thomsen. She was the youngest of nine children. She lived in Winnemucca for the majority of her life and graduated from Humboldt High School (Lowry).

She worked as a nurse's aid at Humboldt General Hospital and retired after 25 years of service. During her long life she enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing with her husband Elmer, reading, gardening and having her family always near.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, granddaughter Dawn Maden, husband Elmer Beatty with whom she will be laid to rest, seven of her brothers and sisters, and great-granddaughter Jessica Morton.

She is survived by her only child Gerry (Bud) Lloid, grandchildren Nicole (Kevin) Rothlisberger and David (Tina) Leon, sister Harriat Lima, great-granddaughter Ashley Maden, grandson-in-law Larry Maden, great-grandson Daniel (Lisa) Morton, great-great-granddaughter Aaliyah Morton and many nieces and nephews.
