WINNEMUCCA - On Halloween night, crews with Humboldt General Hospital's Emergency Medical Services Rescue will hand out free treats to remind area children to have a safe Halloween.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, area youngsters are invited to drop by the ambulance station located adjacent to the hospital to pick up some candy, lighted goodies and miniature stuffed versions of "Huggy," HGH's heart mascot.
The facility is located at 118 E. Haskell Street.
Additionally, the HGH EMS Rescue Bike Patrol will be positioned in the parking lot across from the Humboldt County Courthouse, beginning at 5 p.m., to hand out lighted goodies as well.
Bike Patrol members also will be on patrol throughout the evening in high traffic trick or treating areas, along with area law enforcement, to make sure that children and parents stay safe.
Humboldt General Hospital CEO/Administrator Jim Parrish said it's the least the hospital can do during a time when parents worry about the safety of their children.
He said, "Humboldt General Hospital is happy to help make Halloween a safe holiday for area kids."
