Elizabeth Ann Stanton

Elizabeth Ann Stanton, 72, of Winnemucca left this world in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 in Houston, Texas, where she was receiving cancer treatment. She was born in LeMars, Iowa on Oct. 9, 1939 to Dorothy Mae Locer and Arthur J. Weis, and later raised by her mother and stepfather in LeMars, Iowa.

Known as B'Ann by her loved ones, she married her husband William (Bill) L. Stanton on May 7, 1983 in the mountains south of Helena, Montana at a Mountain Man Rendezvous. She had a love for sewing, reading, gardening, laughing with friends and snuggling at the end of the day with her babies, Mr. T and Miss Kitty.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, daughter Kerry Ann (Gregg) McNeil, their children Alison (Jeff Jones), Emily, Laura and Matthew Kelly, and their grandson Rylan Jones, all of Ketchikan, Alaska; son Brian Douglas (Kathleen) Herrick of Kansas City, Mo., and their son Michael (Jaime) and granddaughter Daisy, all of Witchita, Kan., and their son Lucas Herrick of Kansas City, Mo., daughter Susan Elizabeth (Calvin) Hewitt, her children Jennifer Herrick and Ben Sperry and her grandchildren Becca Herrick, and Tori and Emily Heaton, all of Helena, Mont.; daughter Amy Lynn (Chris) Staudt and their children, Cole, Cody and Cooper, all of Houston, Texas; stepdaughter Keri (John) Spano and their daughter Varriah of Post Falls, Idaho; stepdaughter Kelly (Chad) Dengel and their children Taylor, Shelby, Cody and Madison, and stepson Bill (Michele) Stanton and their son Riley, all of Lewistown, Mont. She is also survived by her siblings Dan (Michele Basta) Tone of Reno, Paul (Mary) Tone of Belgrade, Mont., Tim (Ann) Tone of Bozeman, Mont., Dave Tone and Mary (Van) Feldner, all of Belgrade, Mont. and Leah Tone of Reno, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cherished friends both old and new.

B'Ann was preceded in death by her mother, daughters Callie Faith Herrick and Mary Elizabeth Herrick, and her brother James Barton Tone.

A memorial service for Mrs. Stanton will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 at Word of Light Fellowship Assemblies of God located at 4505 Center Street, Winnemucca, at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Nathanial Rhoads. Her ashes will be spread in her beloved Montana in the spring or early summer of 2013.
