Elizabeth Alvarado, age 55, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on Sept. 28, 2014. She was born on Aug. 24, 1959 in El Paso, Texas and raised by Maria De Socorro Barraza and John Raymond Von Custer.
As a little girl Elizabeth always took on a lot of responsibilities. In addition to attending Catholic school, her priority was her little brother, Pedro Parga and ensuring that he was receiving all the necessities a child needs, especially unconditional love. Elizabeth was always so strong and courageous which defined the woman she was today.
Family and friends were the light of Elizabeth's life. She was the person anyone could count on to do anything whether it was making cupcakes for kids' parties, donating clothes and food, making bracelets to benefit charities, putting a smile on your face or just talking over coffee about anything. She enjoyed shopping for sales, traveling, gardening and cooking. She also loved her cheese and candy, but her love in music was undeniable. She once said that music brings her to life.
Elizabeth married the love her life whom she called her guardian angel, Domingo Alvarado. They were married for 37 years and have three children. Elizabeth and Domingo have lived in Lovelock for 37 years and she called it her home.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Domingo Alvarado and her three children: Juan Antonio Alvarado, Jaqueline Alvarado and Domingo Alvarado Jr. She also leaves behind three grandchildren - Jacob, Malakai and Reagan.
The rosary will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 1045 Franklin Ave, Lovelock, Nev., 89419. There will also be a mass on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. followed by her burial where she will be laid to rest at Big Meadow Cemetery.
