Edyth Margaret Hascall

Edyth Margaret Hascall, age 90, passed away on Oct. 15, 2014, at Harmony Manor in Winnemucca.

She was born March 31, 1924, in Ripon, Calif., to Adam William and Mary Catherine High Jackson and had lived in Winnemucca for 48 years.  She had also previously lived in Battle Mountain, Carlin and Yerington.

Edyth was a school teacher, having taught in Winnemucca for 48 years.

In 1946, she married Vernon Eddie Hascall in Bellingham, Wash., and they were married three months shy of 55 years.

He preceded her in death in 2001.

She was a founding member of the First Baptist Church in Winnemucca; a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the American Legion.

Edyth is survived by her daughter, Karen Norris (Robert) of Winnemucca;  son, Patrick Hascall (Sandra) of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Anne Tooker (Bill) of Bellingham, Wash.;  granddaughters, Kristen Hascall, Diane Hascall, DeLinda Norris Brown (Richard), and Melissa Norris; great granddaughter, Danielle Norris (Michael Timothy); two great great grandchildren, Zoie Norris and Adalyn Timothy and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Gaumer and Helen Martinson and brother, Norman Jackson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at 11a.m. at the First Baptist Church at Fifth and Garrison in Winnemucca with Pastor Stace Cupples officiating.  Viewing will precede services at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in the Winnemucca Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please take flowers to your parent or grandparent and spend some time with them, or take some by to a

resident at Harmony Manor.
