The Eastern Oregon University football team made a stop in Winnemucca last Thursday to practice at Lowry High School before continuing on to the Bay Area later in the day. The Mountaineers, who finished 25th in the final 2013 NAIA college football poll are located in La Grande, Ore. Eastern Oregon played at Menlo College on Saturday to open the 2014 campaign and won 45-27. Eastern Oregon has three former Lowry players on its roster in Jace Billingsley, Michal Arenas and Calvin Connors.
