Dyer awarded Navy medal

Brendyn Dyer, son of Doug and Helen Goucher of Winnemucca, is a 2009 Lowry High School graduate who enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May 2010. Airman Dyer was deployed to the Persian Gulf area March 30, 2012, and is due back to the U.S. at the end of November 2012. Brendyn was one of four sailors on his ship to receive the Navy Achievement Medal. Above, Rear Adm. William K. Lescher, commander Expeditionary Strike Group 5, awards a spot Navy Achievement Medal to Dyer aboard multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) for his impressive work ethic during the current deployment.
