McDermitt High School sophomore Va Draunidalo took home the top spot in the high jump at the Ranchers Invitational last Friday in Crane, Ore.
Draunidalo cleared 4 feet, 8 inches to tie with Lizzie Hyde of Paisley and Kenzie Wilson of Grant Union. She also competed in the shot put and finished seventh with a throw of 25 feet, 5.25 inches and was 11th in the discus at 62-2.
The Bulldog girls were 12th as a team with 10 points. Crane took home the team title with 113 points and Adrian was second at 69. Paisley placed third with 67 points and Grant Union (61) and Harper (56) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
On the boys side, Brendan Wilson finished fifth in the 1,500 meters in a time of 5:20.00 and the senior was 12th in the discus with a toss of 64-8.
Crane narrowly defeated Adrian 129.76-124.84 for the team championship. Grant Union was third with 80 points and Spray (65) and Jordan Valley (51.5) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
The duo were in Winnemucca on Saturday for the Lowry Invitational, but results were not available at press time.
McDermitt travels to Nampa, Idaho on Friday for the Skyview Invitational at 3 p.m.
