The Winnemucca Community Improvement Group Board of Directors is requesting the community's attendance at the following follow-up Community Forum to discuss the proposed Recreation/Boys and Girls Club Complex based on results from community surveys and feedback. The forum is set for Tuesday, May 27 at 6 p.m. at the Winnemucca Inn. If you cannot make the forum, please fill out the survey at the link below or a paper survey is also being mailed out to the citizens in and surrounding Winnemucca to complete.
In October 2013, a group of local Winnemucca citizens representing a varied group of public and private entities came together to become the Winnemucca Community Improvement Group. This group has developed a comprehensive plan to improve youth development, community health and wellness, educational advancement, sports, and community recreation. The Winnemucca Community Improvement Group commissioned to conduct a community assessment. This study showed that 91.8 percent of respondents are in support of this project. The unprecedented support shows that the need is great and the time is right to move forward.
The Winnemucca Community Improvement Group is proud to present the newly proposed Winnemucca Recreation/Boys and Girls Club Complex. This complex will be governed by a Board of Directors in conjunction with the Winnemucca Recreation Department. The new Winnemucca Recreation/Boys and Girls Club Complex is proposed to be constructed in phases to ensure success.
The Winnemucca Community Improvement Group is in the middle stages of a thorough planning process to bring a recreation complex to Winnemucca.
