Dennis Lee Locke, life long resident of Winnemucca, passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2012 at Tahoe Pacific hospital in Reno with his family at his side.
He was born Jan. 21, 1953 to Lee and Patricia Locke.
Although Dennis graduated from Lowry in June of 1974, he continued to commit his life to the staff and numerous students of Albert Lowry High School for 35 years as a fellow employee and friend. He is often remembered roaming the halls after school visiting with everyone.
Prior to working at the school Dennis served the United States Air Force for one year, then was released for medical reasons. He then worked for the geological surveyors and surveyed most of northern Nevada and parts of Idaho.
Dennis enjoyed reading history novels, watching movies and quizzing anyone on history that was up for the challenge. Dennis was a unique and wonderful man that will be missed by those that loved him and those who were truly close to him.
Dennis is survived by his brother Kyle Locke and sister in law Karen Locke, his niece (and best friend) Sasha Locke and nephew Branden Locke, all of Winnemucca, his nephew Allen Locke of Fernley, his brothers Brett Hartley and Dana Hartley of Oregon and their families, brother Lenox Locke and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father Lee Locke and mother Patricia Locke, and his grandmothers Daisy Lee Daust and Ida Gill Locke.
The Locke Family would like to thank Sabrina Lecumberry, James Zurcher and Bill Delong for their time and love they devoted to Dennis.
Special thanks to the Winnemucca and Fallon DaVita Centers, Dr. Robbie Grant and Susan of Dr. Grant's office, Dr. Robert Rosenquist, Chad Backus, Olsen's Corner Drug and all of the generous nurses and doctors who have helped make such a tragedy more bearable.
We will be celebrating Dennis' life and entry into rock 'n' roll heaven on Dec. 8, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the old gym at Albert Lowry High School.
