Denise passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2014. She was born in Valcarlos, Spain, on July 31, 1930. She was one of nine children in her family. She married Marcos Gortari in 1954 and made her journey to Winnemucca, Nev. They made their home in Winnemucca. She worked at the Martin Hotel, Winnemucca Hotel and Ormachea's, but her greatest love was her family and friends. Denise touched the lives of many members of this community. She was an active member of Saint Paul's Catholic Church. She lived her life by her faith. She spoke four languages and loved to talk and interact with people. Denise will forever be present in our hearts.
Denise is preceeded in death by her parents Miguel and Maria Luisa Irigoyen, her brothers Guillermo, Jose, and Martin and her Otxo Pedro.
Denise is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marcos Gortari, her son Mike, her son Denny and his wife Tama, her grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Jason, and Jenna. She is survived by her brothers, Fernando and Pedro and her sisters Fellipa, Tomasa, and Manuella. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family.
A rosary will be said in his memory at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
