Denio School hosted the rural basketball league on Thursday, Jan. 29. The gym was packed with players and spectators watching the excitement of the games. In the 6-8 grade-division McDermitt beat Paradise Valley 35-9 and Denio/Orovada triumphed over Kings River with a score of 36-17. The Denio/Orovada 6-8 grades have joined together to make one team and they practice separately and come together on game day. The 3-5 grade-division also had McDermitt on top of Paradise Valley with a score of 22-13. Denio conquered Orovada by a score of 12 3 and then Kings River defeated Denio 14-8.The crowd favorites are always the pee wee games and they definitely won the crowd over again. Denio/Orovada played Kings River and their second game was against Paradise Valley.
