Delbert Raymond Dory, age 79, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2013, in Sparks, Nev.
He was born in Austin, Nev., on Dec. 20, 1933, in his parents' dry goods store. He is the son of Ray and Ruth Dory.
Del worked with heavy equipment, built houses and duplexes. He owned his own towing business in Austin for many years, worked for the Anchorage Alaska School District for eight years and was a grave digger, a farmer and loved to collect junk and walk up and down the hills of Austin.
He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a church mission with his wife in Sharon in Vermont for 16 months in 2005-2006.
He is survived by his wife Aggie Dory of Austin; brothers Bud Dory of Ely, Nev.; Fred Dory of Silver Springs, Nev.; and Dan Garcia of Sparks, Nev.; children, Mark Breshears of Kamiah, Idaho; David Breshears, Matt Breshears, Joe and Jon Dory, all of Wasilla, Alaska; Shawn Breshears of Dana Point, Calif.; Lauri Farr of Antelope Valley, Nev.; Austin Dory of Provo, Utah, and two stepchildren, Michael Beckstrand of Reno, Nev., and Lance Beckstrand of Sparks, Nev.; as well as 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Del was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Ann Dory; and brothers, Walter Dory and Johnny Garcia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church, 450 N. Taylor St., in Fallon, Nev. Viewing will precede services at 10 a.m. Following services a luncheon will be held for family and far away travelers. Interment will follow in the Austin, Nev., Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon, Nev., (775) 423-2255.
