David George Mering 64 made his home in Battle Mountain. He unexpectedly left us on April 3, 2014 and is now resting with the Lord. David was born on Sept. 28, 1949 in Tonopah, Nev., to James and Naida Mering. He was a miner and worked at Duvall, Battle Mountain Gold, Echo Bay, and Newmont. David loved hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and horseback riding.
David was survived by his dad, James Mering, his sister Wanda Vierra (J.D.) his niece Mickie Evans (Terry), nephew David Vierra (Jessica), nephew Jacob Vierra (Nichole), and numerous great nieces and nephews. His faithful dog, Sunnie was always by his side.
Grave side services will be held on April 11 at 1 p.m. at the Battle Mountain Cemetery.
David was preceded in death by his mom Naida Mering, great niece Emily Maira, and great nephews Jared Keagan and Colin Gabriel.[[In-content Ad]]
