BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Data Night happened Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Eleanor Lemaire Elementary School. Students came dressed in ties and dresses as they were required to wear business attire.
The students studied their longitudinal data, including their academic strengths and weaknesses, and prepared a presentation for their parents.
These were student-led conferences.
Students struggle to own the results of their learning. Through this process students learned where they excel and where they struggle and were able to communicate this to their parents. The culmination of the data study was data and dessert night. After the conference the students ushered their parents into the gym where they served them dessert and coffee or hot tea.
