WINNEMUCCA - Twelve dancers from Encore Dance Academy are excited to have to opportunity to travel to New York City and take classes at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan. BDC offers over 200 classes per week in a variety of classes and levels. Also, while in the city they will be taking a master class with principal dancers from American Ballet Theatre at Lincoln Center.
Chelsea Baker, Chris Barta, Jayci Hill, Joely Hill, Samantha Hunt, Nicolas Ingle, Alexis Kranovich, Camryn Maher, Chanse McAllister, Chaslynn McAllister, Brittany Partee and Hannah Roberts will be making the trip to the Big Apple in June 2013. In addition to the classes they get to take, the dancers will also have a week filled with tours to the Empire State Building, Statue of liberty, Central Park and more. The trip also includes two Broadway shows and a night at the ballet.
Encore will be working throughout the year to help raise funds for these 12 dancers. Each dancer will be in charge of at least one fundraiser throughout the coming year.
One of the biggest fundraisers Encore owners Sara Filippe and Sharon Hartman will be heading up is the 3rd annual Winter Spectacular. This is a fun family show during the holiday season with highlights from past recitals and Nutcracker ballet.
Every dancer traveling to NYC will be performing in the show as well as many other Encore dancers. The dates for this show and upcoming fundraisers will be announced on the Encore website and Facebook page.
