Dale L. Friday, 76, died at the Lake District Hospital on Friday, July 12, 2013. Dale was born to Gordon and Evelyn (Harrison) Friday in Porterville, Calif., on Aug. 3, 1936. He lived in Porterville until he was in the fifth grade when the family moved to Lakeview. While in high school, he moved back to California and settled in Tulare, where he met and later married Shirley Cox on Sept. 17, 1954. While in Lakeview he was a member of the Lakeview High School class of 1955.
Dale was an entreprenur at heart and along with Shirley he owned and operated a service station in Tulare along with a number of rentals. When he returned to Lakeview in 1973, he became involved in ranching on the Westside. For the past 41 years he was a haying and farming contractor. He truly lived the life that he enjoyed.
He attended the Faith Center Church in Lakeview. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother Neil Friday.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Candy Friday of Battle Mountain, Nev.; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Spence Grogan of Lakeview; sister and brother-inlaw Darlene and Jack Davis of Lakeview; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nephews.
At Dale's request no services will be held. Contributions in Dale's memory may be made to the Lakeview Disaster Unit, P.O. 1007, Lakeview, OR 97630 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
