Curtis Franklin Hale - Obituary

Curtis Franklin Hale, 88, of Lovelock died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, after a brief hospitalization.

Curtis was born to Glover and Margaret Hale in Kentucky and he grew up in Indiana. Curtis joined the Navy during WWII; he served on the USS Steamer Bay in the Pacific Theatre.

Curtis made his home in Nevada since 1957, living in Sparks and Lovelock. He belonged to the Laborers Union and worked on many projects as a cement mason in the Reno/Sparks area.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Schimpf Hale; his son Curtis Alan Hale; step-daughters MaryAnn and Vickie; and step-son Bill. Curtis is survived by his son Gary (Beth) Hale of Sparks, Nev.; his daughter Melanie (Pat) Irwin of Lovelock, Nev.; his four sisters Martine Hollaman, Billie Jean Murray, Charlotte Riddle, and Rellah Wolf; and his three brothers Bob, David, and Walter; his step-daughter Joanne; step-son Bob; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Walton's Sparks Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, Nev.
