County commission's first meeting of 2014

Retreat planning, re-bid of bookmobile among agenda items

WINNEMUCCA - The first Humboldt County Commission meeting of the new year will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6. Agenda items include a determination for how long the commission chair and co-chair will serve, and then the election of the chair and co chair for the term determined. Annual service awards will be presented to county officials and employees, recognizing years of service to the county. The commissioners will determine committee and board assignments for individual commissioners for 2014. An annual policy manual update is scheduled for 10:10. Appointment to the Orovada Rodent Control District will follow at 10:25.

The National Weather Service has a presentation on their Storm Ready program scheduled for 10:30. A request to proclaim the month of January as National Stalking Awareness Month is scheduled for 10:45. Road Matters at 11:20 include approval of a bid award for a Belly Dump truck and pending road department projects.

A quick planning session to determine some of the major items for discussion at this years' county commission retreat is scheduled for 11:30.

At 11:45 the sheriff's office will consider a liquor license application for East Prussia Imports' partners Michael Guidero and James Colgrave, and a change of liquor license holder for the Pilot Travel Center to Lauren Baugh.

Public comment is allowed at the beginning of the commission meeting and again at the end. Commission meetings are held upstairs at the county courthouse.[[In-content Ad]]
