County commission to meet on Monday

WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners will hold their regular meeting on Monday in courthouse meeting room #201 beginning at 10 a.m.

The meeting begins with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance, public comment and discussion and possible action on the correction/approval of minutes from the Dec. 19, Jan. 3 and Jan. 17 meetings.

The administrative is scheduled for 10:05 a.m. Consent agenda items include a request for adjustment to the Humboldt County Real Property Tax Roll. Solid waste and public lands planning matters, miscellaneous reports and correspondence and claims for expenditures of county funds follow.

At 10:15 a.m. commissioners will adopt a proclamation recognizing February as Humboldt County Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. That will be followed at 10:30 a.m. by a request that Humboldt County become the sponsor for the proposed James Kinney pond project.

Planning matters are scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Commissioners will set to public hearing RH-11-02. This is a rezone application submitted by Robert and Tammie Quilici to change the zoning from RR-13 (Rural Ranchettee 13,000 square foot minimum lot size) to R-3 (Multi-Family Residential) on property located at 4205 and 4205½ Center St.; Assessor's Parcel #010-361-20 and # 010-361-29. They will also set to public hearing an appeal of the Regional Planning Commission's decision regarding the beginning of Eden Valley Road and the end of Stanford Road in Golconda.

Several requests for contributions are scheduled for 10:50 a.m., including a request from Sonoma Industries for a contribution to help stay open and provide jobs, a request from the Girls' Fast Pitch Association for a donation to cover the costs of rental at the fairgrounds and a request from the Winnemucca Little League Board to grant them the 4-H building for

their annual spaghetti feed fundraiser. Commissioners will also hear a request from the Winnemucca Host Lions Club for a donation to cover costs of the hall rental for a fundraiser over the 2012 Thanksgiving weekend.

At 11:15 a.m. commissioners will consider a request for a letter of support for a grant request related to research done at the Gund Ranch.

Road matters are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Scheduled items include award of a bid for a tilt deck trailer and a discussion with an agent for Golden Jungo Investment, Inc. regarding the county's well in Section 31, T35N, R36E, M.D.B.&M. and the potential of the county getting an easement for said well. That will be followed by a report of pending Road Department projects and miscellaneous road-related matters (if any).

A presentation by CTA architects of the schematic design, schedule and budget related to the Humboldt County Dispatch Center and direction to proceed to bid is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

At 1:45 p.m. commissioners will hear a request from the District Attorney's Office for a waiver to the attrition policy for the administrative clerk position which is currently vacant.
