The Humboldt County Commissioners will meet Monday, Sept. 15 beginning at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will begin with the opportunity for members of the public to address the commissioners on anything not appearing on the agenda.
• 9:35: Administrative report, including an appointment to the Paradise Valley Weed District and several other administrative matters.
• 9:45: designation of areas in county buildings where signature collection on petitions would be allowed.
• 9:50: Possible nuisance declaration for property belonging to Bill and Muriel Elliott at 4195 Turner Land; continuance of the public hearing on a nuisance complaint for property belonging to Tony and Many Duren at 4225 Rainbow Road; and a review of progress toward abatement of a nuisance at 3105 Valley Way in Winnemucca on property owned by Wade Mussi.
• 10:10: Update from Chad Peters regarding the Winnemucca Recreation Center and Boys and Girls Club project.
• 10:25: Proclamation declaring October 19-25 as "Freedom From Work Place Bullies Week."
• 10:30: Possible award of a bid for an agricultural tractor for use at the Winnemucca Events Complex.
• 10:45: Road matters
• 11: A request from the Paradise-Sonoma Conservation District to place equipment in the Paradise Valley Weed District Building.
• 11:15: Planning matters including setting a date for a public hearing on a zone change request on property located at 4505 West Winnemucca Boulevard. The request is from Lucille Maga; Brad Holgate with Transfuels Retail Operation LLC to change commercial zoning at that location to Industrial.
Also under the planning matters designation will be a clarification from the commissioners regarding the role of the Regional Planning Commission related to the medical marijuana establishment ordinance.
• 11:30: Review and possible adoption of a Humboldt County petition to Congress regarding federal issues impacting Humboldt County.
1:30: The commissioners will continue to work on the recruitment process for hiring a new county administrator. Discussion itmes include salary and benefits, ideal candidate qualifications, supplemental questions or information required of candidate, recruitment time line, whether to appoint a recruitment committee, payment of costs for finalists invited for interview or payment of relocation cost for new hire, and other related matters.[[In-content Ad]]
