Lowry High School counselor Todd Milton would like Buckaroo parents and students to take note of some important dates.
Nov. 5 and 6 (Wednesday and Thursday): College, Career and Scholarship Information Night for freshman and sophomores from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lowry High School auditorium. The counseling department, career center and CTE teachers will provide college and career information to all interested underclassmen and parents.
Nov. 5, 6 and 7 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday): First quarter parent-teacher conferences. These three days will be minimum school days with students released from school at 12:30 p.m.
Nov. 6 (Thursday): College and Career Fair for juniors and senior from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Convention Center.
Nov. 7 (Friday): This is the last day to register for the ACT college entrance exam. The test will be given on December 13, and parents and students may visit www.act.org for more information.
Nov. 7 (Friday): Report cards will be given out to students during their 7th period classes.
Nov. 10 (Monday): Lowry Leadership will be hosting the Northern Regional Student Council Conference Nov. 9 - 10 at LHS (minimum day Nov. 10 with students released at 12:30 p.m.).
Nov. 13 (Thursday): MTC Scholarship Information night with time to be announced. The Maintenance Training Cooperative (MTC) Scholarship is supported by local mines and businesses, and in most cases, will include an internship.
