Council to discuss Local Government Consolidated Tax

WINNEMUCCA - The Winnemucca City Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m. at City Hall, 90 W. Fourth St.

The meeting begins with the call to order, Pledge of Allegiance and the correction and possible approval of the Feb. 7 regular meeting minutes and warrants. Public and personal communication and correspondence follows.

Agenda items include an ordinance introduction for rezone application RW-12-01. This is a request to change an R-1-9 (Single Family Residential-9,000 sf minimum lot size) to an R-2 (Multiple Family-Residential) zoning district for property located between Kluncy Canyon Road and Hardgrave Lane (APNs 016-331-32 and 016-331-33).

A city statement on the current Local Government Consolidated Tax (CTX) distribution methodology will also be presented.

There are several requests for temporary street closures for the Run-A-Mucca celebration. They include Lay Street from Winnemucca Boulevard to the Wells Fargo entrance on the easterly side of Fourth Street, from 5 a.m. Friday, May 25, to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 27; Lay Street between Winnemucca Boulevard and Fourth Street beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 28; Fourth Street from Aiken Street to Lay Street (including two intersections) from 5 a.m. on Friday, May 25, to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 27; Fourth Street from Lay Street to approximately 130 feet east of the Lay Street intersection (a point just west of the Wells Fargo Bank exit) from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, and 5 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 27; and Aiken Street from Fourth Street south to the curb cut that allows residents ingress and egress (approximately 100 feet up Aiken Street) from 5 a.m. on Friday, May 25, to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 27.

In addition, there are requests for temporary street closures for the Fifties Fever annual car show. They include Winnemucca Boulevard from the West Winnemucca Boulevard intersection with Fourth Street to the East Winnemucca Boulevard junction from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, for the annual car cruise; Lay Street from the Fourth Street intersection to Winnemucca Boulevard from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, for the Winners Casino Car Show; and Bridge Street from the intersection with Fourth Street to the Winnemucca Boulevard intersection and from the Winnemucca Boulevard intersection to Giroux Street and Second Street from the Bridge Street intersection to Melarkey Street from 8 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5.

Temporary street closures related to the Tri-County Fair and Stampede are also scheduled. They include Winnemucca Boulevard from the West Winnemucca Boulevard intersection with Fourth Street to the East Winnemucca Boulevard intersection for the annual Labor Day Parade from 11 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1; and Fairgrounds Road from the RV Park entrance to the Indoor Events Center entrance for fair events from 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, to 11 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2.
